Jaco van Zyl is a South Africa-trained clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist now based in Ireland. He has a special interest in trauma-spectrum disorders, personality and mood disorders, and affective-perceptual disturbances involving the body. Informed by the historical and contemporary political challenges of his home country, Jaco uses a psychoanalytic lens to explore the psychology of groups, the psychological utility of ideology, and the meaning of rituals within groups.
